I finally made myself do away with the christmas background. I loved it, ya'll. Like taking down the Christmas tree I knew it must be done eventually. So do you like the new look? I have plans to get a new design from a sweet bloggy friend in the (nearish) future, but for now I'm really liking this.
And do you like my new theme? I was searching through some scriptures and those words from the message version of 1 corinthians 7:17 just jumped out at me:"And don't be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God's place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there. God, not your marital status, defines your life".
You know my words for the year are trust and obey. There is a lot whirling around in my heart and mind (mentioned that earlier today, didn't I?) about the subject, as I'm sure it will continue to do in the days and weeks to come. And my prayer is that I not only ponder and meditate but that I live and breathe this "trust and obey" call. I consider this passage a jumping off point in my 2010 adventure with God. And just typing that I got chills that stem from a mixture of terror and delight. I've never been one for adventure. But I know God is. May I learn to take His lead.
So.
Live. Obey. Love. Believe. That's what I want to do this year on my adventure.
Live on purpose. Obey willingly. Love well. Believe wholeheartedly. I'm beginning to think 365 days is not nearly enough time to tackle all of that. More like a life time call.
Maybe that's been His plan all along.
Seen it. Read it. Heard it.

Aw! I like the owls and all the orange and blue (my living room colors)!
I told a friend a few years ago that I'd been praying that God would give me patience. She said "you know how God gives you patience, right? He gives you situations where He teaches you how to be patient. Praying for patience is dangerous!!" I think the same thing as I read your 2010 posts. I pray as God brings situations your way that open doors for you to trust and obey that you find yourself closer to the heart of God than ever before.
Kara, I love it. And I love how you've incorporated that verse. And I love the message translation of that verse. Awesome.
I love it all! :)
Very much a life call. I find that under all that we learn...those words are of vital importance. Trust and Obey. Even in Hope....Trust and Obey.
I am loving the new look. I heard owls were going to be quite popular this year and now I see why. Love it! New bloggy looks are so fun...it's why I change mine so often I think. haha! Well that and I have such fun in PSE :)
Your new look makes me think of the who, because of the owl. Whoooo are you, who who, who who
Straight up j'adore. I have a thing for owls. And love the verse.
