Well, hello there strangers. Where have I been, you ask? Good question. But the better questions are to follow. And they actually have answers. Let's just say it's not been one of my better weeks. And that's putting it mildly. Because the real truth is it has stunk. A lot. This week.1. If you could master one sport, what would it be? Golf. Because my dad and a few cousins and my uncles are all avid golfers. And it rule to school them once in awhile.
2. When you make a major purchase, do you go with your gut instinct, or do you do research to make an informed decision? I do lots of research. I like to check things out first. Most of the time. When in doubt, though, I just go with what the cool kids like.
3. There is an old kids' game that says you can find out what your movie star name would be by using your middle name as your first name and the name of the street you grew up on as your last. What is your movie star name? Elizabeth Meadow. But that sounds more like my movie star is a soap star or something.
4. Would you rather give up your favorite music or your favorite food? What an evil question. It's like asking which child would you rather give up. Pure evil. But if my backs against the wall I'm going to give up my favorite food, ahhh you evil evil question askers!
5. There are two types of banana preferences. One is pristine yellow, almost to the point of being green; the other is spotty and more ripe. Which is your preference? The slightly spotty kind. The point of being green ones kinda taste green, which is not yummy in my book.
6. Your favorite tree is? This goes back to my childhood because my Nanny had two in her front yard: Magnolia. So beautiful and fun for climbing (but darn it if Nanny never let me climb hers!).
7. On a scale of 1-10, how tech savvy are you? Probably a 4ish. It's not good people. But at least I can sorta work my way around a blog and a little html code. I can also set the dvr. But that's about it.
8. Has H1N1 touched your family? No. I joke that I've scheduled my dose for January, but seriously I hope it doesn't happen at all. But my best friend and her daughter both had it a few weeks ago. Both are well now (and mother had it worse than daughter if you're curious).
9. Are you an analytical person, or do you just accept things the way they are without questioning or scrutinizing? I am crazy analytical. Always have been. I don't know if there is anything that I just accept in my head without giving it the once over with my why's and wherefores and hows.
10. Is your personality more like that of a dog, cat, or Koala? Well now I just gotta know, what kind of personality does a Koala have. Because I don't think I can make an informed decision without knowing. So barring a trip to Wikipedia (the source of all knowledge of course) I'm going to say Panda. How is that for random?
11. Do you keep in touch with friends you made years ago? Thanks to the wonders that make up Facebook I do a lot more than I used to.
12. You are checking out at a grocery store. In the express lane, there are more people than the regular lanes, but of course, their load is less than those in the regular lanes. Which lane do you choose (assuming you qualify for the express lane) and why? If there are like 12 people in the express lane and three or four in the regular lane I will go with the regular lane, if for no other reason than it just feels like it will go faster. But if I have few enough items to go in the express lane I almost always choose the express lane unless of course a regular lane is completely empty. It feels like a prize for being so picky and simplified in my purchases for the day. And has anybody else ever counted the person in front of you in the express lanes items when it seems like they have over the limit? I can't tell you how many times I do this. In my head. Like it's going to matter (because apparently Wal-Mart doesn't see fit to have an express lane police, but they totally should).
Linda has lots more Random Dozen. Go check her out. Like an express lane for you souls, my friends.

Hi Kara, I loved reading your answers. Hope this week will be splendid for you :)
Whatever the cool kids like -- I LOVE that answer! It's funny!
And, so you know, Panda's sleep 14-18 hours a day...of course, they're allowed to do so. I think I could if anyone around here would let me.
A panda...haha...I love it! They are adorable and they get to sleep alot...one can never go wrong with those two things.
Sorry you have having a rough week :( Hope it gets better...and just think the weekend is coming soon!!
Hope things get better soon.
I loved your answers. I hear you about the Facebook connections. I have loved that piece.
And I think Elizabeth Meadow is a perfect name! Sounds like a great book character!!
loved Panda! Koala's are just sleepy...I know a couple children of mine with that personality.
Wish I had thought about saying that asking to give up food vs. music was evil, 'cause it truly was.
I liked Elizabeth Meadow. Let's make her a CSI investigator. :)
Love your answer about the personality types! :)
I'm sorry you had a tough week. Praying this next week is a lot better for you, friend!
i almost answered golf, too, but gymnastics was a huge part of me early in life...i miss it...
Oh I'm all about counting the items. I never actually say anything but I do fume on the inside.
Loved your answers : )
I like your profile :) I too could fall in the obsessive category.
I'm always scoping people's express lane purchases. Because I'm a rule follower and others should be, too!
I hope the rest of your week is better, sweetie!
Great answers, Kara. And I think sports like golf and tennis are great because you can do them until you drop, you know?
I love Magnolia trees -- they have beautiful flowers :)
Hi! I'm Bekah (or Rebekah, if you ask my grandma) with a K! Darn those absent checkout lane police! Let's sign up! (and have a better week!)
Panda's can have anger problems...
