Random Dozen #10

I almost forgot about Random Dozen today. It's my day off this week and all I was thinking of was my hair appointment and what laziness I can absorb myself in today. But, sometime this morning between pondering the length of my bangs and how many layers I should get in my tresses I remembered my favorite q&a of the week (the layers look fabulous by the way). So here goes.

1. It's early morning, about 2:00AM, and you're driving home. You come to a red light and sit there. There is no one in sight for miles around. Do you wait it out or run the light? Probably. But I've never been the most law-abiding driver (if you count speeding), so, well, you know. Crazy that I'm a stickler for most other rules and regulations.

2. If you had the chance to re-do the last 24 hours, would you change anything?
I would have gone to bed earlier and written this post up before I went to bed instead of perusing Youtube and stalking, er, catching up with friends on Facebook. You know, just your basic change your life kind of things.

3. When you reply to someone's comment on your blog, do you reply in your comments or go to her blog and comment? (Or email her)
Typically I will go to her blog and comment or if need be I will email her (my sister doesn't have a blog so I usually email her). When I first started I would comment on my blog but now I almost never do.

4. Your favorite Disney movie is: Beauty and the Beast followed closely by The Little Mermaid and Emperor's New Groove. Sorry I couldn't just pick one. But Beauty and The Beast is my favorite.

5. Do you recycle? Not really.

6. Games of strategy or games of chance? I have learned over the last year that I am just not that good at strategy. My sister is great at strategy games, but me? Not so much. So I'm going to go with games of chance, so I at least have a chance.

7. Do you have any recurring dreams? Not really recurring dreams, but I still have dreams of my grandmother's old home (she's been dead for 16 years) and the home I grew up in, even though I've lived in my current home for the last three years I never dream that I live here.

8. What did you learn from your first real job? Having a paycheck is nice.

9. Do you buy or borrow most books? Buy usually. I am notoriously bad about not returning borrowed books in a timely fashion. In fact, while cleaning this week I unearthed a book I borrowed a year ago from a co-worker. It's just better if I buy them.

10. What fashion trend of the past did you say you'd never wear again but did?
There isn't one that comes to mind, I remember when I was in high school a friend of mine and I made a pact we would never wear bell bottoms. Flare leg jeans I hope don't count.

11. When do you start Christmas shopping? I have been known to buy things the day after Christmas for the next Christmas, but most of my shopping really gets done between Thanksgiving and Christmas eve. I went to fashion market with my boss this summer and picked up a few things for my mom so I was kind of through with her in June. Which was nice.

12. Have you ever been so happy that you literally jumped up and down for a few seconds? If so, what was the occasion? Umm, when I'm happy it's pretty much a given I will jump up and down, or at least do the ridiculously big grin/clapping combo. I'm pretty sure I jumped up and down in the hotel room before heading out to the Needtobreathe concert, and you can just ask my college friends how I would jump and cheer when it snowed, and then there's any random Thursday night when a new episode of The Office is on. I'm pretty sure the most consistent form of exercise I get is these happy jump up and down cheers I give to these everyday delights.

I know you're just chomping at the bit for more random dozen, so go here. Don't hurt yourself. There is way more.

I'm pretty sure flare leg jeans don't count because they are not called bell bottoms so I think you're safe. Me too. It was fun reading your answers...enjoy your new haircut : )

OK I haven't even read the rest of your answers because I got stuck on #4. I cannot BELIEVE I forgot The Emperor's New Groove! I watched it all the time in college.

"Aaah, demon llama! Demon llama!"

OK now that I've got that out of my system, I'm going to read the rest of your answers.

I think you & I would be great movie buds!

ohhh I love layers! Such fun! I am pretty sure "getting my hair did" is one of my most favorite things.

Settlers of Catan is strategy game...I cannot really explain it so I always send people here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Settlers_of_catan

I so want to see Toy Story in the theaters! I have not seen Emperor's New Groove I may have to check that one out. I adored Beauty and the Beast all through High School and College

Quotes

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me- watch how i do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." Matthew 11:28 The Message
